I Already Have a Fire Certificate

Since the 1st October 2006, that certificate is no longer valid. You must carry out your own Fire Risk Assessment.

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (England & Wales),
&
The Fire (Scotland) Act 2005,
have both given a whole new raft of responsibilities on all businesses across the UK.

 

 

It is now YOUR responsibility to risk assess your own premises and identify the potential sources of fire, of persons at risk, evaluate those risks, record your findings and keep the assessments up to date. The safety of YOUR employees and visitors is YOUR responsibility

 

The Fire and Resuce Services have considerable powers under the legislation
to enforce compliance.
